The idea of setting up a digital pathology and telepathology network may seem at first sight incongruous and a mere craze. But considering it as a strong lever for restructuring biopathology and its (re)upgrading gives this idea another dimension, that of a considerable support for the rest to come.
This approach will make it possible to solve a public health problem in areas with high activity (screening, surgery, Invasive test, etc.) and a shortage of pathologists.
This pilot project will make it possible to launch and implement digital pathology on sites selected according to well-defined criteria, and thus to provide rapid, reliable results through a network of experts, in a public-private partnership (PPP) approach.
The perpetuation and generalisation of this digital approach will solve the problem of anatomopathology in Morocco, as an important element in the care of our patients in cancerology.
This pilot project represents one of the main pillars of the Moroccan Oncology Big Data project, 2020 / 2029, and a basis for education and training. It will also contribute directly to the advancement of research and development through artificial intelligence.
